This month Jose and I have set ourselves a goal. It's a big one but with your help we think (hope) we can do it.
We want to reach 100 members of our online dance studio 'danza estudio Flamenco Bites'.
We've been working on building up the membership for some time and we are very grateful for everyone who has taken a chance to try out a subscription for a month or longer.
We need to reach a minumum number of members in order to make Flamenco Bites sustainable in the long term.
We have never received funding and we will never take on advertising.
Apart from the fact that ads would make the site messy and less enjoyable to use, it would mean that you our readers would become a product to be sold.
We just couldn't do it, we are here because we want to serve you and your flamenco journey not to serve advertisers.
That means we are supported by you the Flamenco Bites community.
If you would like to see Flamenco Bites continue to exist and grow we need your help.
If we don't receive enough support we'll have to consider the future of the website and what we can realistically do.
The healthiest way to support our work is by becoming a member of our online studio 'danza estudio Flamenco Bites' (it's a mouthful, I use deFB for short).
It's only $35 USD per month (+ EU VAT if you live in Europe) which works out to only $1.13 USD per day.
When you join you get immediate access to ALL of our classes and courses to stream on-demand. You also get to make suggestions about future classes or updates to our existing ones.
But the biggest benefit to joining danza estudio Flamenco Bites is that you get to pick the brain of José whenever you need to via our members facebook group.
We do live Q&A sessions twice a month, we live-stream classes and coaching sessions from the studio and you can share short videos of yourself to get personal feedback on your dancing from José.
The value of being a deFB member is off the chart for serious students of flamenco dance.
In order to make Flamenco Bites sustainable we need a minimum of 100 members.
With 100 members both José and myself will be able to devote more time to Flamenco Bites but we will also be able to invite other artists to share their art with you via classes (for deFB members), interviews and tutorials (for the blog).
Everything you put into the website with your support will come straight back to you.
If you are one of our 100 members by the 30th of April we are planning some extra perks to say thank you.
We'll announce those as soon as we can confirm them.
We'll announce our next guest artist when we reach 80 members.
We love working on Flamenco Bites, getting to connect with the international flamenco community has been an incredible experience.
We'd love it if we could continue.
Please consider supporting us by becoming a member if you'd like to see us continue as well.
This Thursday we'll be doing a live class with José for our members.
Using the combination for soleá that I taught in our last free live class 'How to dance slowly', José will take it further and share his insights in interpreting this palo and those same steps.
José does not hold anything back when he is teaching so you can expect it to be an invaluable session for all dancers and very high value for the price of a monthly membership.
We hope you can join us!
